Week 13 Picks

Two weeks ago I was destroyed, and last week I just forgot. Here’s my week 13 predictions. I’m 26-15 so far.

Atlanta at Carolina (-3) – Ron Mexico is due and so is Jake Delhomme. Unfortunately for Vick, he is due for a crappy QB performance and Jake is due 2 TDs. Go Panthers. Game of the Week #1.

Buffalo at Miami (-5.5) – The Bills need McGee back on special teams badly. I don’t think they can go into Miami and come out with a win, as much as I dislike the Dolphins, they’ll beat the Bills. By 5 and a half? Sure.

Cincinnati (+3) at Pittsburgh – Roethlisberger’s thumb is injured. He’ll be wearing some kind of mechanical device on it. Hello, Tommy Maddox. Hello Bengals defense. Sure Pitt’s defense is no slouch, but they haven’t been making big plays lately, and they will need to to win this week, even at home. Plus, you can’t stop Chad Johnson (mainly because of TJ Housmanzadeh). Game of the week #2.

Dallas at N.Y. Giants (-3.5) – What a game. All three games of the week are being played at the same time. Thank goodness for Jocks and Jills with their multiple TVs. I still believe in Dallas, but the Giants had Seattle last week. All this talk about how great Seattle is, and they couldn’t beat the Giants at home. Yes, they won. Because of three missed field goals. I do not believe in Seattle. I do believe in both the Cowboys and the Giants, though. I’ll take the Giants at home.

Green Bay at Chicago (-6) – Last week, I told Robbie that Chicago is not a real team. They can’t score. They scored one TD last week, because they got the ball on the one-yard line. But that’s all you need. Brett Favre makes so many bad decisions these days, the Bears defense will outscore the Bears offense, as well as the Green Bay offense. Go Bears.

Houston (+8) at Baltimore – Wow, really? -8? Was it because they beat Tommy Maddox? Or they came back (not enough) last week against the Bengals after getting destroyed in the first half? Or is it because Houston is that bad? Houston is that bad, and so is Baltimore. The over in this game is 38.5. I’d take the over. And Houston, just because I think their offense is better.

Jacksonville at Cleveland (+3) – Jacksonville could have been a contender. They were the best hope of destroying the Colts unbeaten record. Then Byron Leftwich got hurt. I don’t think a backup QB (and I think David Garrard is one of the better backup QBs in the league — like Matt Schaub) can go into Cleveland and win against the scrappy Browns.

Minnesota at Detroit (+3) – Teams always win after firing their head coach, right? Maybe they will get Kevin Jones the football now. Go Lions. I love you Joey Harrington, even if you suck.

12:25 pm: I just heard Kevin Jones is out today. I’ll take Minnesota (-3).

Tampa Bay at New Orleans (+4) – The Saints are ready to go on a little tear and make sure they get close to a 8-8 or 7-9 record so they screw themselves on draft day. Aaron Brooks has always done well against the Bucs. I have faith. Who dat?

Tennessee at Indianapolis (-16) – That line sounds about right. But man I hope the Titans win. They won’t but I’ll be rooting for them.

Arizona (-3) at San Francisco – Kurt Warner is on fire! Awesome. Zzzzzzzz…… Cardinals win.

Washington at St. Louis (+3) – I don’t know what to think about this game. I sure don’t expect Fitzpatrick to have a big game again, but I don’t expect much out of Washington, either. I’ll take St. Louis at home.

Denver (-1) at Kansas City – That line is silly. KC beats New England and suddenly they are only +1 to the Broncos? No way, even at home. The Broncos are good. I can’t wait to see them play the Colts.

N.Y. Jets at New England (-10.5) – Hi, welcome to Dullsville. Population: J E T S Suck Suck Suck. The Jets look like the Saints these days. The Pats aren’t last year’s Pats, but they won’t have any problems with New York.

Oakland at San Diego (-11.5) – That’s a mean line for Oakland. Maybe Vodka Collins should stop throwing interceptions. Maybe Randy Moss should decide to play. Maybe every receiver on that team should learn how to catch. Lamont can’t do it all. Ladainian, on the other hand, can. Go Bolts.

Seattle at Philadelphia (+4) – Philly completely stopped Tomlinson when they faced off. Seattle could not beat the Giants last week (yes I know they won). When the Eagles hold Alexander to 15 yards by the half, we’ll be treated to the words “travel,” “jet lag,” “814 miles to the nearest NFL city”, etc, etc. Please Eagles, beat the Seahawks. Do it for TO.
