On to the Next Bush-el of Bananas

Reggie BushReggie’s lawyer needs a bodyguard, and he brings pistols to his desposition.

A lawyer for a sports marketer who is suing football star Reggie Bush said he and his client walked out of a deposition Tuesday after a bodyguard for Bush’s attorney opened his jacket to expose a pistol.

Reggie, what’s up? This whole story is getting odder and odder. Hopefully this is all resolved soon and before it becomes a bigger stupid thing.

  1. Reggie is just bad news all around. Wait, that’s not completely fair. Maybe it’s just something as simple as having bad karma. As someone who attended a rival Pac10 school, I can’t wait until SC gets their bowls and national championship stripped from them for all of his “deals” with boosters. I suspect that when all is said and done, his NFL career will never really live up to his talent/skill. The Saints would be wise to trade his ass . . . maybe to the Rams?

Also, am I the only one that thinks that Giants fans are worse than Patriots fans? I’ll be honest, I sorta wanted the Patriots to win because a) I wanted someone to stick a fork in those whiny-ass ’72 Dolphins, and b) I hate ll NY sports teams. However, in the end, I could really give a rip who won and it’s always good to see a team get a comeuppance.

This is a football related post, so hopefully this doesn’t count as a hijacking . . .

  2. ricky william, I mean reggie bush is our man and we’ll stick by him until he’s gone.

and don’t tell me that wasn’t a sweet superbowl game. watching tom get all angry on the field and the G-men doing the “impossible”

  3. I have no problem with Giants fans. The only one I know is John, and he’s 64% retarded. The Giants did the world a great service. They were not a great team, and although that catch by Tyree was amazing, and the game was great, they will go away once the season starts. No one is going to fear the “defending world champions” next season.

There was no part of me that wanted the Pats to win. The Dolphins are annoying, yes, but they are nothing compared to what NE fans would be like if they had won.

I’m starting to worry about Reggie’s future success in the NFL. The Saints O-line is great at pass blocking, but terrible at run blocking. There is no doubt in my mind that Reggie’s numbers would look like Adrian Peterson’s numbers if he was running behind the Minnesota line. I do wish Reggie would stop dating porn stars and settle this USC business, though.

The Rams suck, and they deserve their current terrible team.

  4. I’ll admit that I didn’t exactly watch the game this year. I was on vacation and the choice of sitting in front of the tv or skiing when conditions were perfect seemed like an easy one. I love football, but hated both teams enough not to care. My desire for NY to lose was lessened by the revelation on ESPN.com early SB Sunday that the Pats cheated when they beat the Rams in 2002 by “allegedly” filming their walk-through the day before the game. I’m sure the NFL will investigate thoroughly.

    Yes, I know, sour grapes.

  5. The more I read about Reggie Bush, the more I get a Ron Mexico vibe. Not saying he’s into dog fighting, but it seems trouble just sort of follows him around if you see what I mean.

  6. I’m not as close to the situation as you all, but I never even got a whiff of Bush being anything like Vick until this gun thing. About the only similarity I saw before was that they’re both spoiled jocks . . . and there’s a lot of variants of that particular strain of jerk.

A more apt–and Saint-centric–analogy might be Billy Joe Hobert (whose name actually hurts for me type, the son of a bitch). The talent differential is astronomical, which probably explains how Bush got a house of of the deal rather than just a Trans Am, even if nothing says classy like a Trans Am.

These are just guys who are just in it for themselves.

  7. hehehe, I’m not close to it, I’m further away than probably any of you. You’re right I think, it’s the self-centeredness that’s similar.

Although I do read Reggie’s very active in the community; is that right guys?

  8. He is. There’s Reggie Bush Field at Tad Gormley Stadium where all the high school football games are played to prove it.

Sometimes I think he’s a dedicated football player, and sometimes I think he’s a spoiled brat. I haven’t figured him out yet. I don’t think he’s a thug. The gun thing was his lawyer’s bodyguard’s gun. I’m not even sure Reggie was there. I would be shocked if it turns out that Reggie is a thug.

  9. The University of Washington student newspaper once printed an editorial cartoon of Billy Joe in which he professed his wish to “shoot big guns and lick miles of…..” Funniest thing I have ever seen in print.
