  1. This is horrible. I really think he’s overrated. Uck. Why couldn’t we draft someone? I will bet anyone anything that this turns out to be a horrible move. Nobody does lousy like the ‘aints.

  2. We will be able to get more out of the draft in more areas we need (defense) if we trade the #2 pick.

Drew Brees throws forward passes and can actually read defenses and call plays from the line.

As long as he is healthy (oh please don’t let him be Chad Pennington), signing him means we can have a decent QB and still draft someone like AJ Hawk or Mario Williams, who can have an immediate impact.

We have to win now if we want to stay in New Orleans. With Lienert we win in two years. We have a better shot of winning now with Brees.

  3. Point taken. I just think Brees has a questionable shoulder, and has done most of his best work with the best running back in the NFL behind him. Let’s see what he does with this bunch.

  4. I just hope both the Saints and the Dolphins lock up good, solid vets for backups. If sign a big money #1 who is recovering from a serious injury then you’re dicing with danger. Who have the Saints got now that they’ve let Brooks go? Miami let Frerotte go, which unless they’re gonna re-sign him for less money, might be a mistake.

  5. Continuing the theme of “Quarterbacks Kent Likes But Who Everyone Else Thinks Is Overrated”, if Detroit releases him, I wouldn’t mind seeing Joey Harrington backing up Brees.

  6. I’m with you on that. Although I have no idea why. I guess I just like the idea of assembling college all-stars. I mean, we did try to make Danny W-Awful into an NFL quqrterback. That worked well.
