Brent wanted an averaged list with one song per artist on it. I feel that this is unfair to the songs on the Galactic and Preservation Hall Jazz Band albums, as each one of those albums are made up of songs featuring the main band as the backing band for an individual artist. Oh well. You are losing Big Freedia and Tom Waits with this list. If you can live with that, go on ahead.

Kent, I can’t believe you didn’t like Where the Wild Things Are. I thought it captured the imagination of a troubled kid really well. Also regarding Spotless Mind, I think a lot of the credit goes to Michel Gondry. That guy is uniquely talented. Do you want to add Spotless Mind to your best of the decade list.

I think your aforementioned concern about spoilers is even less of a threat than you thought. And even though I think the acronym ESOTSM sounds dirty, I will use it because I hate typing on the weekend. Which do you think is a better movie, ESOTSM or Inception?

I wonder if the book ended the same way, or if this ending was written by the screenwriters. I agree with you – it was more important that she got her first and only earthly kiss than to free her family from the horror of knowing the murderer is still walking around – and had actually chased their other daughter, and not only that, but had designs of murder on the other daughter? The more I think about it them more I disagree with the ending.
