It means that I don’t think he’s a playmaker. I think if the Giants are playing well, then Shockey! plays well. If they are struggling, then Shockey! struggles. A playmaker makes plays that turn the fortunes of a team around. I’ve never seen Shockey! do that.

A playmaker elevates his team, not the other way around.

Of course, by my definition, Mike Karney is a playmaker, so maybe it’s there’s a little bit off there.

Kent … what exactly does that mean? Don’t you think all players play better when the players around them are playing well …
Two tight end sets are in vogue right now, especially if you have a playmaking tight end that can stretch the field.
It’s not like Harper’s some all-pro … ditch him and address the secondary via the draft.

It seems that that report was wrong, and that in fact, it was the Giants who wanted Harper and a 2nd for Shockey! and the Saints turned them down. God job, Loomis. I feel better now. I'm still concerned that we even want him to begin with.
