Rebecca HavemeyerHello Buzzards! Just found out that tomorrow night, here in Austin, your ol’ Rebecca Havemeyer is gonna appear onstage with the one and only Rufus Wainwright! Yeee-Haaaw! Rebecca entered a contest in which Mr. Wainwright chooses one person from each city of his tour to get up on stage and perform a spoken word section of his song ‘Between My Legs’ (how fitting). Rebecca submitted her video on Youtube’s audition page (keyword ‘Rebecca Loves Bologna‘ to see it), and holy christ on a cross, Rufus chose the old ho! Niko Case is opening the show, and it’s at Stubb’s BBQ outdoor stage. See Buzzards…dreams do come true if you pimp your hoochy butt out enough. La!

95 years old.  Wow.

Here are some of the odds makers’ predictions on the Saints.
Odds makers are generally way better than almost any analyst.

vs. Bills (Friday): We’re a a six-point favorite (Take the Bills)

vs. Colts (Opening game): We’re a six-point underdog. (Take the Saints)

Over/Under number of regular-season wins: 9 1/2 (Take the under)

To win the Super Bowl: 15-1

To win the NFC: 6-1 (The same as the Cowboys, Seahawks and Eagles. The Bears are the favorites at 9-2)

To win the NFC South: 6-5

Drew Brees to win NFL MVP: 10-1

Reggie Bush to win NFL MVP: 15-1

Our luck is changing …

Trainers carted New Orleans Saints starting left tackle Jammal Brown from the practice field Tuesday morning after he crumpled to the ground with an apparent right knee injury.

UPDATE: What looked like a serious knee injury to Saints starting left tackle Jammal Brown on Tuesday morning was later diagnosed as a bone bruise, ESPN.com repors.

SaintsFirst off, sorry to those out there who don’t follow football, because that’s mostly what you’re going to get from here on out.

I’m not disappointed at the Saints loss last night. Already Mike McKenzie is being pointed at as toast. Poor guy. I’m not McKenzie’s biggest fan, but I’m also not upset that he got burnt on a long bomb on second down during a preseason game.

The Steelers needed to win that game for their self-esteem. They have a new coach. The Saints didn’t, and played like it, and nobody got hurt.

Good things about the game:

  • Reggie accepts a two-yard gain instead of a 5 yard loss.
  • Reggie falls forward on both carries.
  • Despite blitzes from the Steelers, we didn’t give up a sack. We got pressured and made questionable decisions, but we didn’t get sacked.
  • Despite playing vanilla defense, we got in three sacks, two in the first quarter.
  • Nobody got hurt.

Bad things about the game:

  • Jamie Martin is not very good. Please don’t get hurt, Brees.
  • Jason David got burnt even worse than McKenzie did.
  • Where was Roman Harper?
  • Where was Devery Henderson?
  • The Saints’ first score was Fife to Dudley. Can there be two more doofus names?

And I really can’t believe Chris Collinsworth asked Michael Irvin if he felt like he deserved to be the Hall of Fame.

Colleen and Tom and their family were not involved in the Minneapolis bridge collapse. The bridge runs very close to Tom’s club, the Kitty Kat Club, where they had their wedding, but they and everyone they know are okay. Thank goodness.

Thanks to Yancey for reminding me that I should put something up here for everyone.

I just realized that the first NFL preseason game is this Sunday, and it is the Saints vs. the Steelers.

And it’s on the $@#&!* NFL network, so I won’t be able to *%$#& watch it.

I hate the NFL network.
