Lesson Learned

During my recent trip to Oklahoma, I witnessed the Enid Motorcycle Olympics. With such events like “Who Can Go the Slowest?” and “Smoke Out,” the EMO’s provided an interesting look on modern soceity in Enid, Okla.
In “Who Can Go the Slowest,” two bikes wobbled their way for about 50 yards as slow as they could possibly go without touching the ground or tipping over. The excitement was overwhelming.
In “Smoke Out,” bikers took turns pegging their front wheels up against an RV tire, then burning rubber. I asked some guy wearing a “I hate (insert numerous racial slurs) and homos, but I love (insert racial slur for African Americans)” T-shirt, how you tell who wins. His reply: “What are you stupid?” “No, but your shirt is,” I fired back.
I learned a lot from this exchange. First: Racial slurs make me more uncomfortable than porn. Second: I need to work on my comebacks.
Speaking of comebacks … let’s all lift our glasses and toast Leslie for finally getting a job and for failing to email me my favorite pants. Hip, hip, hooray.
